Overview transport systems 

The network of heating pipes in greenhouses can be used for many things. For example, transport trolleys which are hung on the pipes to transport large quantities of plants from one side of the building to the other.

Lukassen supplies the following transport systems:

• Switch system: to transfer transport trolleys from one system to another
• Service trucks: to carry out repairs to the greenhouse
• Harvest trolleys: to transport plants through the greenhouse

The switch

It all started for Lukassen engineering with the add-on switch. This switch makes it possible to move trolleys through the premises hanging on the heating pipes. There is a wide range of options, from manual operation of the trolleys and switches to a fully automated system.

Transport route
The transport trolleys are loaded, at a potting machine for example. The switches are fitted in between the heating pipes. The route is set out by hand in advance. The trolley moves through the greenhouse over various switches. A sensor stops the trolley at the location where personnel are working, so that they can remove the pots from the trolley. The transport trolley then continues its route through the greenhouse.
